Single Crochet Preemie Cocoon

For this pattern I used Caron Simply Soft yarn and a G hook.

This pattern will fit a preemie sized <1lb-3lbs.

Ch-Chain
SC-Single Crochet
SL-Slip Stitch

Ch 6, join to first ch with a SL to create a circle
Rnd 1: Ch 2, Work 12 SC in circle
Rnd 2: Ch 2, Work 1 SC in same stitch (do this in each round), work 2 SC in first SC, then 1 SC in next SC, repeat around and join with SL to first SC
Rnd 3: Ch 2, Work 2 SC in first SC, then 1 SC in next 2 SC, repeat around and join with SL to first SC
Rnd 4: Ch 2, Work 2 SC in first SC, then 1 SC in next 3 SC, repeat around and join with SL to first SC
Rnd 5: Ch 2, Work 2 SC in first SC, then 1 SC in next 4 SC, repeat around and join with SL to first SC
Rnd 6: Ch 2, Work 2 SC in first SC, then 1 SC in next 5 SC, repeat around and join with SL to first SC
Rnd 7: Ch 2, Work 2 SC in first SC, then 1 SC in next 6 SC, repeat around and join with SL to first SC
Rnd 8: Ch 2, Work 2 SC in first SC, then 1 SC in next 7 SC, repeat around and join with SL to first SC

Fasten off and weave in ends

Preemie Hat 2

This is for a preemie hat of a baby weighing 4-5 lbs. I used Bernat Satin, one strand.

H 5.00mm Hook

Ch 2

Rnd 1: Work 8 HDC in 2nd st from the hook

Rnd 2: Work 2 HDC in each st around

Rnd 3: Work 2 HDC in 1st st, then 1 HDC in next st, repeat around

Rnd 4: Work 2 HDC in 1st st, then 1 HDC in next 2 sts, repeat around

Rnds 5-14: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 15: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnds 16-17: Work 1 SC in each st around.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
