Cancer Hat 3

This pattern is for either a regular beanie, or one that slouches. I used one strand of Caron Simply Soft for this hat.

H 5.00mm hook

Ch 2

Rnd 1: Work 10 HDC in 1st st from hook

Rnd 2: Work 2 HDC in each st around, (Do not join, work in continuous spiral)

Rnd 3: Work 2 HDC in 1st HDC, work 1 HDC in next st, repeat around

Rnd 4: Work 2 HDC in 1st st, work 1 HDC in next 2 sts, repeat around

Rnd 5: Work 2 HDC in 1st st, work 1 HDC in next 3 sts, repeat around

Rnd 6: Work 2 HDC in 1st st, work 1 HDC in next 4 sts, repeat around

Rnd 7-9: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 10: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnd 11: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 12: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnd 13: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 14: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnds 15-17: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 18: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnd 19: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 20: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnd 21: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 22: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnds 23-25: Work 1 SC in each st around

Fasten off and weave in ends, this will make the hat come just above the ear lobes.

If you want to make the slouchy beanie, shown, do not fasten off, continue stitching to RND 26.

Rnd 26: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnd 27: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 28: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnd 29: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 30: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnds 31-36: Work 1 SC in each st around

Fasten off and weave in ends. The beanie will now slouch.

This is for an adult S/M sized hat. I used one strand of Caron Simply Soft yarn for this cancer cap.

This is for a preemie hat of a baby weighing 4-5 lbs. I used Bernat Satin, one strand.

H 5.00mm Hook

Ch 2

Rnd 1: Work 8 HDC in 2nd st from the hook

Rnd 2: Work 2 HDC in each st around

Rnd 3: Work 2 HDC in 1st st, then 1 HDC in next st, repeat around

Rnd 4: Work 2 HDC in 1st st, then 1 HDC in next 2 sts, repeat around

Rnds 5-14: Work 1 SC in each st around

Rnd 15: Work 1 HDC in each st around

Rnds 16-17: Work 1 SC in each st around.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Baby weighing 2-4 lbs:
